Facebook Insecurities: A Female Perspective

How many times a day do most of us, mention the word Facebook to each other? Thats right people. Alot of times. Seeing life as we know it in the twenty first century, our day never seems to be complete without atleast five minutes of Facebook.

So today I have decided to give a general opinion of the insecurities of facebook that have been highlighted by the Female gender in general. Also I will be presenting a few solutions to solve some of these insecurities that the female community feel have not been addressed by the Facebook governance.

Start off with the most important.

Social Networks are What Hackers Feed on:

Take in to example any social network and you will see that hackers try to break their way in, no matter how hard you try and eventually they break through. In any such condition Facebook has been badly hit and reports indicate that about 65% of these breakthroughs are on female accounts. Now Facebook’s PHP is near-to impossible to decrypt, unless some one using a super computer with a brute force attack can cripple it and get their way in, which is something near to the impossible.

So How Do They Do it ??

Well people this is a shout out to Hotmail and Gmail, guys please spice your your security a bit. It sucks basically.

A hacker determined as ever tries to gain access to an email linked to your Facebook ID which he eventually hacks, something Gmail has curbed to some extent but Hotmail has definitely failed in doing so. Now here Facebook is at fault to some extent as well, because they depend too much on external emails. A solution to this would be to introduce Facebook emails that can be used by every user. This would finish the dependency of a user to use an external email which is bound to get hacked some day or the other.

Now the ladies using Facebook find this a huge problem because they are completely, “Freaked out”  by the fact that some pervert will have access to their account whenever he likes. Yes people, most of the hackers community is male. This puts a lid on their desire to use any online Social Network.

Solution ?

A simple solution to this would be to get an external email ID from any website owner you might. Example, your freind owns a blog, example.com so you just ask him to make you an email account on this example.com. This is the simplest and most easy solution to get hackers out of your way.

Privacy Settings:

Privacy settings now matter how many times revised by Facebook, have still not won the hearts of the female users. They still find it a huge risk to put up their pictures, Information, Bio Data and contact numbers, as they feel that these may be abused by people who are able to see them. Unfortunately it is very difficult for the average human brain to predict the intentions of any other individual so, technically they are right to Question Facebook over it’s privacy settings.

Copying pictures and putting them up on other sites is like one of the lowest things humanity could think of. Unfortunately yes, this does happen a lot because there are certain sick-minded people who use them to spread profanity around the internet. Apart from this the information provided may be visible threatening organs, such as terrorists who can use this information in the worst ways imaginable. Now here the user can not be blamed for these complaints as Facebook needs to provide options such as:

“Don’t Let my pictures get copied?”

Hope this will ring a bell in the head of Mr. Mark Zuckerberg, if he cares for any Female usage of his blog in the near future.

Personal Enemity Taken out over The Social Network:

If just to say, you have a fight with someone at your school and you are completely ticked off at that person and you could do anything to get back at them, what do you do if you are a simple techy ? You disrupt their privacy by hacking their account. Now I know I have already explained this point above but here I just have to highlight one of many reasons Facebook is no more revered by the Females as it once used to be, (let me remember, oh yes, 5 Million users ago). This is another major reason why Females do not like to use Facebook as it can give enemies the chance they need to destroy their Personal Repute and to some extent defame them.

The solution her is to come from the females themselves as they are responsible to secure their account with the resources at hand. They can use the tip i gave in the first problem i highlighted and use that along with some of the new Facebook security options and create a reasonably strong account.

If no Wallposts then Inboxes:

Facebook leaves out one small loophole in their anonymous contacting facilities. You can message anyone over the inbox which are not seen by the world but you can say anything to anyone over the web. Women find that highly intrusive as random messages is definitely the last thing they expect from the Web.

This little loophole can just be adjusted to allow only one message from someone who is not in your friends list. That way If their is anything important in the message further discussion can take place by adding each other.

Scandals, the worst of the worst:

There are certain groups all over Facebook which provide the community with Faked Scandals that are just a ploy to defame a certain individual. They in turn just end up to be an epitome of disgrace and spit on the  face of civilized society. This is something very wrong and morality tells Facebook to stop this madness from occurring but the $ in turn encourages them. Yes folks every time you click on Facebook they receive funds. Every time you add a friend the receive funds. Each letter you type sends them 0.01 $ so when you have above 10 Million users it isn’t difficult to get greedy. I hope you read this Mr. Zuckerberg, and take due action, but we all kn0w you yourself faked scandals back in your days at Harvard so whats to know you won’t stop your users from faking them. But still this is a general appeal.

So thats it for today people, hope you all had fun reading what the Female mind finds worst about Facebook. And technically speaking they are quite correct about it. If you are hosting up a 1 Billion users, well you better start beefing up your security or you can go kiss your asses good bye in court.

Quite a useful post actually. The security loopholes apply to males equally – I disagree however, that women minds’ work in a particular way and mens’ dont. This depends upon how sensible a person is, or how much susceptible is he / she for these types of vulnerabilities present in facebok. It does not matter if a person is male or female, it depends upon who that person is.

Hahahaha dude trust me on this, their minds work in completely opposite directions. Women are not the violent type atleast when it comes to the web where as men can go to any extent and try to hurt anyone. And I agree over the fact that ot all males do these kind of things. There are females aswell but at the end of the day majority are males. I have statistics from hacks in Pakistan in the last 2 Decades taken from the Inter-Services Intelligence’s Cyber-Warfare Unit so I believe they are quite reliable.

Would you like to present support your argument with some evidence from an authentic source?
