Today every student and his guardians are very much worried about the selection of the field in studies. Many students are spoiled due to misguidance and due to wrong selection of profession. Engineers and students of other fields of studies except accounting face a lot of difficulties in finding a suitable job according to their qualification. Doctors and Engineers remain jobless and unemployed even after the completion of their studies. As a CA student, I am presenting some reasons to prefer Accounting and Finance over other qualifications.
Flexibility:
Students from any academic background can apply and pass exams at their own convenient pace unlike the other fields like doctors need medical background and engineers need mathematical background. But in field of Accounting and Finance background of study is of negligible importance. However students with accounting background find it easier for themselves.
Growth Rate:
According to Rozee Survey Publication growth rate of Accounting and Finance field is 25%. The demand for professional Accountants continues to pick pace even in the recession. All banks, multinationals, small sized companies, hospitals, NGOs need Accountants to manage their business.
Time:
Time to become employed is about 2 to 3 years.
Job Placement:
Variety of job roles in specialized areas of Accountancy, Finance Audit, Tax, Local and International Law. There is no risk of becoming surplus and out of job.
Competitive Edge:
Average annual pays of accountants in Pakistan is Rs1.2 million. Other countries have their own statistics. It comes with a suite of other degree programmes like BBA Hons, BSc Hons and MBA from local and international universities.
Global Recognition:
Accounting and Finance field is recognized in more than 170 countries in the world.

One Million after the graduation of what major courses?
Since the author of this article is doing CA, I presume he is talking about graduating in CA (Chartered Accountant) major
But I would recommend you to do ACCA if you really want to come to accounting side. Doing ACCA would give you a much better position even abroad.
CA needs strong maths, I presume ACCA too? :/
Well, firms out there are always looking for the extra-ordinary people. You must never look for the shortcut way. You need to work hard in order to succeed.
As far as my experience goes, studies after you high school are way different than high school studies. They are TOTALLY different.
If you are weak in sciences, just don’t go for engineering major. You may go anywhere else except BA, MA.
Go for a professional degree like ACCA like I wrote before.
And If you really want to go for ACCA, you must study CAT after matriculation.
Choose wisely!
ACCA is a degree which can be achieved through less hard work and it’s reward is considerable
