Do you mostly lose the game of tic tac toe to your friend? Well here is the solution and a ‘secret’ to ALWAYS win tic tac toe!
Step-1:
When you have the first move, go for the extreme corners of the frame which are:
For example, you select the first extreme corner like this:
Step-2:
Now if your opponent places his sign at any of the remaining extreme corners, you will surely win this game. Let’s suppose he chooses this bottom right place:
Now you place your sign at the remaining corners (and not at the middle). There are two corners left now. If you place on any of them you will have a two-way attack as indicated by curved arrow.
For example, you place your sign at the bottom like this:
Step-3:
Now wherever your opponent places his sign, you are going to win as you’ve got him by a two way attack. Let’s suppose he places in the middle:
Now you place on the top right corner and..BINGO! you’ve won it.
Now wherever you opponent places his next move you are going to win. This is how I always win tic tac toe. And if your opponent plays the first move, always fill the middle box first and brainstorm to defeat him by another two way attack. what if the opponent goes first .. and what if the opponent puts a cross n the middle instead at the corner ?
Well, in that case you should corner your opponent from 2 sides. Go for extreme corners and the neighboring one first. If you can cover 2 adjacent boxes, its your game

Well it’s not gonna help you always win if you’re relying on them playing the corner.
This is like saying “How to ALWAYS win at Rock Paper Scissors!”
1. Pick paper
2. If your opponent picks scissors, you will surely win!

To summarize, this could have easily been made more complete. Tic tac toe is a very simple game and there aren’t that many possibilities, but if you know how to play it, you can guarantee that you will always either win or tie, and never lose.
