“Batman:Arkham City” Game Of the Year?

When we hear someone say “Superhero”,we get really excited and curious. Want to know why? because we think that superheroes can do anything and everything. They are our saviors, guardians, protectors and the ones who fight evil. No matter how tough the Villain is,the Superhero gets him down and Wins over the evil. Thats the story we all love and want to listen to and that’s what we have been listening to and watching in the movies for the past 70-80 years or more. Superheroes portrayed in the movies are so powerful, fierce, strong. The best part, almost all of the superheroes have their underwear over their costumes. I guess, thats just a formula that they think will prove successful and guess what?It is successful, otherwise why would others copy the man of steel? The man who introduced the style of wearing underwear over their costumes. When we’re talking about superheroes, one name bumps right into our mind,Batman. He doesn’t have natural super powers, nor does he have laser rays, nor is he made of steel.

He’s just a regular person who turns out to be a superhero,a Dark Knight. The Movie “The Dark Knight” was marvelous and everybody would agree. The game “Arkham Asylum” released in 2009 which has Joker taking over the asylum and Batman trying to defeat him was a magnificent piece of work. Some even call it the best superhero game ever made and I have to agree to that because not many superhero games have been commercially or critically as successful as “Arkham Asylum”.For example,Superman 64, a disastrous 1999 release, is counted among the worst games of all time, though the list of lousy superhero games certainly doesn’t end there. From The Fantastic Four to Iron Man, even the sturdiest super-types have been roughed up on small screen.

Few days ago,the sequel to the amazingly successful “Arkham Asylum” called “Arkham City” released. In this game Batman leaves the claustrophobic passageways, cells, and grounds of Arkham’s asylum to take on the whole town in an open-world romp.

It was released on Xbox 360 and PS3.And according to critics, it doesn’t just match the original, it surpasses it. With a stunning 95 average at Metacritic, the verdict’s in: go out and buy it, because this, actually, is the best superhero game ever made.

“Arkham City not only lives up to the standards set by Arkham Asylum, it bests its predecessor in every way and stands tall as one of Batman’s greatest moments,” raves Game Informer’s Andrew Reiner in a perfect 10/10 review, adding that it’s “one of the biggest and most enjoyable time sinks of the year.”

Nearly every critic out there agrees with that assessment. Regardless of how well Arkham City sells, it’s already a massive success, and stands a pretty good chance at being among the best reviewed games of the year, if not the outright winner.
